Republic, the Empire and the Late Roman period. The site includes
an extensive bibliography, many links as well as the Greek text
and an English translation of Arrian's "Array against the Alani".

over 500 drawings and images) with a particular emphasis on the
army in the field and on the march. The structure is slightly confusing
and the site was temporarily down when we last visited it.

a travelogue, a bibliography, an (as yet) incomplete English translation
of Emil Ritterling's "Legio", as well as a book store,
a forum and a chat (!).
