Michael Gerber,
born in 1971, is currently pursuing his studies in Philosophy, Ancient
and Modern History, as well as in Ethnology at the University of
Bern where he also holds the part time position of a Tutor of Philosophy.
After successfully completing his studies at the
school of commerce in 1990, Michael Gerber has worked in a number
of positions in the field of business and economy. He also traveled
extensively in Latin America and Asia. In parallel to his professional
activities, he pursued a higher education at the "Maturitätsschule
für Erwachsene" at Bern from where he successfully graduated
in 1999.
After taking up his studies at the University of
Bern in 2000, Michael Gerber has focused his interest on the history
and culture of the Ancient World. In particular, he has repeatedly
engaged in studies of the ancient Greek and Roman East.
Michael Gerber is the administrative assistant
of the Mavors-Institute. He is also assisting in the Rome's
Eastern Frontier and Army
and Integration projects of the Mavors-Institute.
