The MAVORS-Institute for Ancient Military History is a center for ancient army studies, information and news with a unique and extensive scientific library, as well as own publications. It is the only such research institute world-wide. Its members enjoy international scholarly recognition and support. The MAVORS–Institute is dedicated to furthering all aspects of scientific research and to supporting scholars in the field of Ancient Military History. It consists of its permanent staff and its members, its library and publications, its projects as well as the subject-related projects and activities of its staff members.

The MAVORS–Institute is under the supervision of the board of trustees of the MAVORS–FOUNDATION FOR ANCIENT MILITARY HISTORY.
